Buy them a lemonade.  Your kids drink, don’t they.  Two places to go:  (1) the first, Original Hot Dog on a Stick location.   It’s located just south of the Santa Monica Pier, before Chess Park.  It’s where Curtis Stone, Austrailian Chef on Biggest Loser, took Jennifer Hawkins when they did an ELECTRIC BICYCLE guided tour from Pedal or Not.  The lemonade here, is better than any mall Hot Dog on a Stick.  And now you’re on the beach.  That’s things to do in LA with teenagers. 

You’ve got the Pier (Air Hockey), the beach, lemonade, sand, sun and happy teenagers, happy mom and dad.  Let’s go shopping….!

But, first, (2) fresh fruit lemonade at Fred Segals on 5th and Broadway.  My favorite lemonade.  People come for the expensive, organic clothes.  Some for the People magazine potential to see stars like Curtis Stone.  Myself, this is the best lemonade in Santa Monica.  Now you can go walk the 3rd Street Promenade and find stores from Old Navy to upscale stores in the new Santa Monica Place.  But if I wanted the best things to do in LA with teenagers, I would go to 7th street and take an ELECTRIC BICYCLE GUIDED TOUR at Pedal or Not.  Teenagers love to ride electric.  Hey, you ride bicycles at home – you’re in LA.  Go electric.  Go to Pedal or Not Electric Bicycle Guided Tours, 1515 7th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401, 310.917.1111.  Tell them Curtis Stone said they were ‘amazing.’

You can go to the beach but it’s full of sand and you know how that gets everywhere – between your toes, in your car – and why haven’t they been able to Heal the Bay (after all these years).  Things to do in LA – the beach looks great when you’re riding along it on an electric bike.  It’s LA – nobody pedals in LA – go electric.

Your could drive to the Marion Davies Guest House, next light after the California Incline on the PCH – good luck getting a parking space.  Things to do in LA – get a parking space at the beach for under $10.  $20.  And really, how much time are you going to spend in the remains of a 110 room mansion built for William Randolph Hearst by the architect of the Hearst Castle – about 10 minutes – if it’s open.  It’s worth it if you happen to be on an electric bicycle guided tour from Pedal or Not exploring things to do in LA.
